We are Rhode Island’s exclusive dealer for all Vespa, Aprilia and Piaggio motorcycles and scooters. With our two stores, we serve all of Rhode Island as well as eastern Connecticut and southeastern Massachusetts. Vespa Providence/Providence Motorsports are located in North Providence just two miles from downtown Providence, in the shoppping plaza at the corner of Mineral Spring and Douglas Avenues, next to Town Fair Tire. Vespa Newport is on West Main Road in Middletown, just across the street from the BMW dealer.

Our Story
Providence Motorsports and Vespa Newport grew out of our recognition that scooters and motorcycles are a fast-growing market that makes sense in today’s economy. Fuel efficient, easy on parking, good at reducing traffic congestion, and lots of fun to ride, motorcycles and scooters are a sensible and cost effective solution to your transportation needs.
Our scooter and motorcycle business started out as an addition to the automotive repair business at Bruce Beard Automotive in Middletown, RI. Originally, we sold inexpensive chinese scooters but quickly realized that these bikes did not hold up, the manufacturers did not support the dealers, and parts were not available to keep them running. We soon found Vespa and immediately recognized the quality, rugged construction and classic design that have made Vespa scooters the icon they have been since first introduced in Italy in 1946.
Vespa, Piaggio and Aprilia motorcycles and scooters are still designed and built in Italy. The company adheres to the highest standards for design, engineering, materials and construction. They make the best bikes on the market and they stand behind their product.
